Hesperus Press, independent publishers of neglected and translated classics, is a favorite of mine. Many books I would not otherwise have found came to me through their website and catalog. Discovered another one I want to read just the other day over at Kevin From Canada. But the website has been down for sometime, the blog infrequently updated, and I have not seen a new catalog in quite some time. I was beginning to worry that they were going the way of many a small publisher these days. Until my Autumn 2009 catalog arrived today. And the blog has some recent updates. And I read in a couple of places that the website launch is not far away. Hope. Request your own catalog at enquiries@hesperuspress.com .
My fall Hesperus wish list? The Brickfield by L.P. Hartley, On Reading by Marcel Proust, and On Genius and the Common Man by John Ruskin. Do you have a favorite Hesperus title?
