When I first started writing this blog, my intent was to expose the full range of my print junkie problem. But that proved an unwieldy and impractical idea. My reading habits exhaust me, and an exposition of all the papers, journals, magazines, literary fiction, literary criticism, cookbooks, etc. would have a teeny tiny audience of other easily distracted individuals. So my efforts here became rooted in literary fiction with the occasional distraction, mostly food and wine related. To which I draw your attention now.
Yesterday I found out that one of my favorite sources of food porn, Gourmet, will cease publication with the November issue. How could this be? I keep losing favorite publications lately but Gourmet? The beleaguered publishing industry now pulls the plug on icons? With a great cookbook club and gorgeous photos and writing occasionally so freakin' evocative that you can almost taste the food as you read? I'm sick, sick, sick over this one.
Have you lost a much-loved publications recently?
