Everyone seems to be taking a moment this week to tip their hat to their nearest and dearest blogging friends. My non-structured book group jumps immediately and happily to mind. Richard and the women - Claire, EL Fay, Emily, Sarah and me. We started together reading through 2666, and have gone on to share (at least) one book a month since. Love that we can joke each other so openly, that we can joke Richard for nearly everything out of his mouth. Love even more that they are all so shiny smart and such fantastic writers and that the conversation is (almost) always stimulating. We have had some odd unicorn and other (pleasingly) childish moments.
We do share books that are occasionally (usually) off the blogger beaten trail. Things that suit our individual and collective tastes. We challenge one another to stretch as readers. And no one ever holds back their real opinion for fear of offending. This works for all of us in a way that I hope your blogging inner circle works for you. Join us sometime?
