• Favorite blogger Karen announced the May book for the Cornflower Book Group - My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier. A personal favorite of mine. Had such fun reading Rebecca with Sandy and others last year. Will definitely be at Cornflower Books on May 22 for the conversation. And for those of you participating in the Daphne Du Maurier challenge, this is a bonus conversation along the way for you.
• Another group read to consider in May is Bad Blood by Lorna Sage. Reading along with the Slaves of Golconda. Weigh in on May 31. 
• Enjoyed this video - "How the Modernists Changed Neuroscience."
• Love Alain de Botton's tweets. Like this one. "The most time-consuming arguments are always those sparked by the impatient retort that life is too short to discuss this sort of thing." 
• Curious as to what will happen at the Paris Review with new leader at the helm, gobbled down this article at Intelligent Life.
• Librarian listservs have been enlivened by an announcement by the Library of Congress that they plan to house the entire Twitter archive. It takes a lot to get librarians this excited so I am curious as to how you bookish types have reacted to the plan.

Every week, I bookmark many things, things that capture my fancy for a minute. Some I tweet but most never get shared. So for a few weeks at least, I am going to try to collect a few of them in a Monday post. So this week:

• I laughed at Emily Dickinson, vixen via this book cover on Book Covers Anonymous. Whereas the cover is entertaining, I have developed an aversion to most fictionalized accounts of the lives of authors. Especially of authors of whom I already know quite a bit. Like my recent experience with Vanessa and Virginia.
• Kimbofo pointed the way to The Thought Fox, the very promising Faber and Faber blog.
• Reading some Randall Jarrell poetry online and stumbled upon a link to the Kenyon Review for an excerpt from his one novel, Pictures From an Institution, a novel of academe. New edition due out from the University of Chicago Press at the end of this month. Really curious about this one, and believe it in my reading future. Anyone read it?
• Sometime back I blogged about the 1970s offerings from the Penguin Decades, a UK based publishing project that offers the books that defined the British national identity decade by decade. The mini site for the project can be found here with info on the four decades currently available. Each decade's designs are distinctive but still love the 70s the most.
• Having been thinking through a Borges reading plan of late, and was excited to hear of new Penguin editions out of his work. Until I saw them. Blah, blah, blah. Do nothing for me. You?
