Look up! Look up now says the impatient child inside me, proud of my new possession. Just look at that banner! My friend Molly (look down at a couple of other recent posts - it is Molly Week) decided to save me from my frustration with my stock banner. Molly of the large heart and graphic design talent supplied the first two images you see. The second photo she actually staged to conform to my banner wish list requirements. Is this a friend to a high maintenance friend or what? But that's not all! She searched the web for a just right additional photo, and then obtained permission for its use. We see this great image today thanks to the generosity of Molly Dunham, of "A Foothill Home Companion." Many thanks!
As for my other housekeeping chores today, they are in my actual house and not here on my blog. It is the print junkie thing again - everywhere. Magazines, journals, books, dozens of little pieces of paper on which I write myself notes concerning both the mundane and my more impractical musings. Have to clean them up today. The nice little photo above is of course offered as an appeal to you of like minds, an appeal to defend the loveliness and convenience of having your favorite belongings close at hand when needed or desired. But that is such a joke. It is not like I was going to photograph the actual disarray. I never understand this when I see it on other blogs. "Hey readers, this is my huge mess of an abode and I thought you might want to see it." Short of those in the running for a loon appearance in a Nicholas Basbanes chronicle of the bibliophile insane, who wants to do that? To me, it would be like going down to the basement to photograph the five loads of unwashed laundry or perhaps snapping some winners of the kitchen one night after the last of thirty party guests departs. Then posting them. Perhaps someone can explain this to me?
