Earlier this year, I decided that I wanted to give away a good quantity of books in the coming months. Initially, it was just a selfish thought. Make more room on my shelves, buy myself new books to take their places. But as the purge progressed, the real satisfaction from the exercise came from all that bookish happiness that came back to me from the recipients. Books have made their way all over North America, the UK, Portugal and even New Zealand, and so many have sent happy thanks and links to posts about the books received. Feels great! Highly recommend this.
So here's the deal. Pick one. Just one. Leave a comment to claim that title so that everyone knows it is taken. Then email me (the address is at the top of the left sidebar here) with your shipping address, and I will mail it to you. Simple. And good books get a new life. Will ship anywhere as usual. The Lacuna, People of the Book, and Brothers are hardcovers, the rest are paperbacks.
The titles up for grabs include:
- The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver
- Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco
- Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
- Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy by Sigrid Undset
- People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks
- Brothers by Yu Hua
- A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines
- The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl
