Today kicks off the much-anticipated Paris in July event hosted by Book Bath and Thyme for Tea. My reading now choice has shifted to The Sweet Life in Paris by David Lebovitz, a book I have been eyeing since it's release over a year ago. Lebovitz, pastry chef and Chez Panisse veteran, left the US for Paris after the death of his partner for a new experience. Suspecting from his well-loved blog that his story is not one of unqualified adoration of the city of lights, but a wry examination of an exacting culture.
So while I start this one, today seems a good day to cook from one of Lebovitz's creations, this time his blog. This tomato tart post captured my attention immediately but I have not decided for sure yet. Will just keep reading through for a while. If you are looking for a little cooking inspiration for this month's event, definitely check out this blog plus Lebovitz's link list for more. Any French cooking links to share with everyone today?
