On August 16, the clever cheeky monkeys at Melville House will release five new titles for the Art of the Novella series. All titled "The Duel." Good gimmicky fun. For which I am queuing up of course. I have previously read the Chekhov and Conrad but it has been years, and I look forward to reading all five duels in a row this summer. With descriptive adjectives such as meaningless, ludicrous, and futile held in the descriptions of the novellas, I look forward to beach read denunciations of violence, to the persecution of the innocent, and maybe even a little romance. It seems a long way away.
